VISION STATEMENT
At Christ Church, we are committed to worshipping the Lord God in Spirit and truth in the Anglican tradition and sharing the love of Jesus throughout the world by both actions and words; feeding the bodies, minds and spirits of families and people of all ages so their needs will be met and we can grow in God’s love. We will accomplish this through the grace of God by partnering with different agencies in our area; the churches and communities of faith in and around our community, the local school district, regional, state and federal resources and others as prescribed to meet those the needs with healthy food, educational opportunities, help in and around the home, healthcare services, and wholesome fellowship. Ministries we are currently involved with include:
1.      Christian education which  includes Sunday school for all ages, Biblical preaching, multiple weekly small group Bible Studies which strive to build Biblical literacy and Christian fellowship, and a youth group which combines fun, Bible learning and missionary service experience for grades 6 and up.  Our vestry leadership is grounded in Bible study and decisions are made seeking the Mind of Christ.  Our Episcopal Church Women have a Godly focus of raising funds to provide Christian Camp opportunities to all children of the community and beyond for further Christian formation.//
2.      St. Afterschool/ is an exciting intergenerational ministry to the children of our local school district for grades pre-K – 6. /St. Afterschool/ provides a healthy snack, crafts, Biblical teaching, vibrant worship, help with homework and games.  The children are involved in outreach projects, sharing their gifts to the glory of God in our surrounding communities.  Families are ministered to as God reveals the needs.
3.      By the grace of God, our /Daughters of the King/ (DOK) are committed to daily prayer, service and evangelism and undergirds Christ Church.  Weekly prayer teams offer prayers for individuals and families during our Sunday Eucharist Service and other Healing Services take place on a regular basis. Additionally, a prayer table is available at our local farmers market.
4.      A community feeding program, /Bread of Life, /is held on a monthly basis providing a free nutritious dinner open to all in an atmosphere of loving fellowship.
5.      In all we do we will maintain a missionary mindset, extending to the places we serve like the South Sudan, New Orleans, Haiti and local communities suffering from natural disasters, and visiting those in need in and around our community both at home and in health care facilities providing both spiritual encouragement and tangible help in maintenance and building.
In all we do, we will strive to reveal Christ and His love in the relationships we build.

Thanks to monies received from the Phillip Nichols estate, the Parish Hall has had new cabinetry and counter space installed. Not only do the cabinets look nice, they give space to store supplies for St. Afterschool as well as for coffee hour. They are a welcome addition.

WARDEN'S CORNER

As required by the canons of the Diocese of Albany, the members of the vestry are the search committee for Christ Church.  We are preparing to begin work on the important task of finding a new Rector.
We have met with Elizabeth Strickland, Deployment Officer for The Episcopal Diocese of Albany.  She has given us the tools needed for this search and has been helpful in explaining the whole process to us.

ALL SAINTS 2012 Via con Dios

FEAST OF ALL SAINTS, November 1, 2012
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers /” / So those who received His word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.  And all who believed were together and had all things in common.  And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.   And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved/. (Act 2:42-47)
