The Order of the Daughters of the King® (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as Lord of our lives. We are an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, churches in communion with it, or churches in the Historic Episcopate. An Order is a community under a religious rule; especially one requiring members to take solemn vows. We don’t just enroll as members and attend meetings; we take life-long vows to follow the Rule of Prayer and Rule of Service. If you feel the calling or just would like more information on the DOK, St. Veronica’s Chapter of the Daughters of the King will be holding a informational meeting in the near future (date to be announced). For His Sake! Gail

News:

November 2010
The St. Veronica’s Chapter of the Daughters of the King came together in celebration of their faith through the sharing of the Good News, meditation, sacraments, and fellowship at their November 6, 2010 “Soaking in the Son” Retreat. Retreat leader, Rev. Donna Steckline gave an inspirational talk on “Windows into Heaven” praying with Icons. The Daughters then participated in All Saints Corporate Holy Communion officiated by the Rev Joseph Acanfora. After a delicious lunch, Deacon Donna led a session on “The how to of Daily Devotions”, using the BCP for Morning and Evening Prayer. The afternoon concluded with the final activity of making Prayer Beads. According to the Gospel of Matthew 18:19-20, 19”Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” I think that all of the Daughters would agree, we felt renewed and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
