Terry Colf

Terry is a lifelong Episcopalian. While living in Mt Upton his family attended St Matthew’s in South New Berlin NY and then St Andrew’s in New Berlin NY.  Terry’s high school years were spent in Bainbridge NY where he attended St Peter’s and acolyted and sang in the choir.  In his college years, Terry attended Trinity Church in Potsdam NY, where he sang in the choir and met his future wife Barb.

After college they settled in Norwich NY, where they still live, and began attending Emmanuel Church there.  While at Emmanuel we participated in a study called Friendship With Jesus and also participated in Cursillo (Central New York #14), both of with strengthened our faith tremendously.  While at Emmanuel Terry sang in the choir and also served as a lay reader and served on Vestry.

While their daughters Becky, Rachel and Molly were still in school, they began travelling to Christ Church in Gilbertsville and became members here in 1991.  What has caused us to remain for nearly 30 years is the consistent preaching of the Christian message and the wonderful parish family that we are now part of.

At Christ Church Terry reads lessons and sings in the choir, and have also has taught Sunday School as well as Confirmation classes.  Terry has previously served on the Vestry here.  More recently Terry has begun programming our music system, and with the departure of Mother Donna is now responsible for selecting music for Sunday services.

Terry is the Senior Recording Clerk at the Chenango County Clerk’s office and a board member of the Norwich Theater Company Inc.  His hobbies include participating in or directing theatrical productions, golfing, reading and travelling with his lovely wife.
